The PADS has been originated from a project developed to the Petrobras (Petróleo Brasileiro S.A.), from a signal processing and acquisition system for non-destructive testing methods. Click here if you wish to know more about this project. From financial resources of the Petrobras and the PADCT (Programa de Apoio ao Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico), an initial structure (the first computers and equipments) to the laboratory was mounted. The PADS has been established definitively in August of 1997 at room H-320 of the Center of Technology.

In the present time, the managers of the laboratory are: Prof. Antonio Petraglia and Rafael Jorge Csura Szendrodi.
